NCS publication on Radiation Risks has been published

The Dutch Committee on Radiation Dosimetry (NCS) has finalised NCS report 26 entitled “Human Exposure to Ionising Radiation for Clinical and Research Purposes: Radiation Dose & Risk Estimates”.

See http://radiationdosimetry.org/documents/ncs/human-exposure-to-ionising-radiation-for-clinical-and-research-purposes-radiation-dose-risk-estimates).

This report summarizes  known data on tissue and organ reactions and stochastic effects following exposure to ionising radiation. It can be used to balance risks of scientific research using (healthy) volunteers against societal benefits. In addition, it serves as a basic document for those who want or need to have a certain understanding on the effects of ionising radiation on human tissue.
